Having worked in diagnostic healthcare since 1986, I have witnessed firsthand the physical impact of dis-ease on the body through MRI and CT scans, mammograms, and cardiac catheterizations. As an observant participant now enlightened by the transformative power of yoga and natural remedies, I find myself reflecting on how we can better nurture a natural state of balance within ourselves and learn to inhabit our bodies in a more healthful, harmonious way.
The evolving landscape of healthcare presents an opportunity for us to deepen our awareness of our innate preventative power. Our bodies are constantly striving for balance, homeostasis. Therapeutic yoga serves as a valuable tool to support and guide the body in this ongoing quest for equilibrium and vitality.
My intention is to guide you on a journey of self-exploration, offering tools of awareness that illuminate subtle shifts away from balance in your body and mind, along with practices to help you restore harmony and well-being
My approach integrates yoga and somatic movement, chakra work, yoga nidra, meditation, and breathing techniques. Together, these practices foster an overall sense of well-being or can be tailored to address specific moments of dis-harmony which come with anxiety, depression, ptsd.
In 2008, I embarked on a quest beyond the conventional healthcare system. By 2010, I had earned a Holistic Health Practitioner Diploma, expanding my vision of health and healing. I began practicing yoga online, starting with Seane Corn, whose chakra work revealed the layers of emotion and trauma stored within my tissues. Troy Hadeed introduced me to the profound beauty of breath paired with movement and the deeper meaning of "Love." Clara Roberts-Oss reminded me of the grace and power of embracing my feminine essence.
Through this journey, I discovered that yoga offered a pathway back into my body, teaching me how to sense and respond to subtle changes within.
In 2018 I completed a 200hr YTT with SomaYoga Institute with Liz Hefernan and Peggy Profant. In 2023, I completed a 300hr therapeutic yoga training with SomaYoga Institute. Samantha Akers of Sit.Be.Love was an additional instructor. These trainings included yogic philosophy, mindful alignment, yoga and somatic movement, the subtle body, meditation, memory maintenance, chair yoga, yoga nidra, restorative yoga and (the most impactful for me) trauma informed yoga.
My life has been marked by profound trauma. I understand what it means to carry these painful experiences within the body and react from those places of pain. My medical chart includes "Depression, Anxiety, PTSD." On my personal quest for healing, I have also explored astrology, the Tarot, and the restorative magic of plants. My healing journey has allowed me to gather a collection of powerful therapeutic tools to navigate anxiety, depression, ptsd that I hope to share with you as you embark on your own path toward healing and self-discovery.
Come practice with me!
With so much hope & love, Stacey
